Morellino di Scansano DOCG
The most representative traditional wine of Massi di Mandorlaia. The specific care for “Mandorlaia Riserva” starts in the vineyards, mainly by dramatically cutting down the production per plant to priviledge concentration. “Mandorlaia” Riserva matures for two years in oak barriques and casks.
Grape varieties Sangiovese 85%, Alicante, Merlot e Cabernet 15%.
Wine making Process fermentation in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature of 28-29°C, 15-18 days maceration.
Maturing and Aging in French oak (Allier)barriques for at least 24 months then in bottle.
Alcohol 13.5 – 14.5 % Vol.
Tasting Notes intriguing thickness of the intense ruby colour with purple reflex slightly turning to garnet, complex sents of leather, tobacco and black-berry, smooth impressive body sustained by structured and balanced silky tannins, long sweet finish with fudge and mocha notes.
