The rocky soils and the arid climate of Massi di Mandorlaia express this noble and generous wine. Grapes selection in the vineyards, low yeld per vine tree, originate a fully bodied and wellbalanced wine who is aged for few years in oak barrels. A limited production of bottles per year and a long maturation in oak and then in bottle gives complexity to this “meditation” wine. A wine suitable for aging in the cellar. Colpetroso is the spearhead of the production of Massi di Mandorlaia.
Grape varieties: Petit Verdot e Alicante
Fermentation and aging: fermentation in stainless steel vats and aging in barriques.
Tasting notes: soft and smooth taste. Complex aromas of blackberry, vanilla, tobacco, leather pleasant and balanced tannins with a long lasting balsamic final.
Food pairings: stewed game and wild boar meat, aged cheeses, grilled red meat in general.
