|5 – The “Vinsantaia” inside the Main Tower
Our unique and fascinating “Vinsantaia” (the Vinsanto winery) with its venerable chestnut and oak “caratelli” (the typical vinsanto barrels) is housed in the Torre Grande (MainTower) of the Castle.
|2 – Agin cellar
In the ancient undergrounds cellars of Castello di Poppiano the wine ages and matures in the oak casks or in barriques
|6 – Panoramic view from the Main Tower
On the top of the tower we can enjoy the magnificient view of the vineyards and olive trees of Castello di Poppiano.
|3 – Extra Virgin Olive Oil Mill
Coming up from the cellars we get to the extra virgin olive oil mill room. Here is possible to learn how our first quality extra virgin olive oil is processed.
|7 – Tasting
It is possible to taste some of the most representative wines of Castello di Poppiano and from the other estates in the southern part of Tuscany (Maremma), Massi di Mandorlaia.
|4 – Vinsanto “passitoi”
Climbing into the main tower of the Castle (“Torre Grande”) we come across in the the old Vinsantaia and its “graticci” (drying layers) where Malvasia grape is dried up for the production of Vinsanto.
|8 – The Wine Shop
After the tasting it is eventually possible to buy wines and extra virgin olive oil at the wine shop.
